ICDCodeFor.com (“we”, “our”, or “the site”) is a free ICD-10-CM medical code reference tool. We are not a healthcare provider, billing service, or covered entity under HIPAA. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.

2. Information we collect

If you create a free account: we collect your email address, a username you choose, and any optional profile details you provide (full name, specialty, certifications, country). Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.

Usage data: when you search codes, we log the search query and a timestamp. This is used to improve search quality and show you your recent searches. If you are not logged in, searches are not linked to any identity.

Quiz activity: if you participate in the daily quiz, we store your answers and score to maintain your streak and display the leaderboard. Your username and score may be visible to other users on the public leaderboard.

3. How we use your information

• To operate the site and provide search functionality
• To display your saved codes, search history, and quiz progress in your account
• To run the monthly leaderboard (username and score only)
• To send transactional emails such as password reset links — we do not send marketing emails
• To improve search quality using aggregated, anonymous query data

4. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. To operate this site, we work with carefully selected infrastructure providers for hosting, database storage, authentication, and AI functionality. These providers are bound by their own privacy policies and are not permitted to use your data for their own purposes. All data is stored and processed in the United States.

5. Cookies and tracking

We use session cookies solely to maintain your login state. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics beyond what is described above. We do not fingerprint browsers or track users across sites.

6. Data retention and deletion

Your account and associated data remain until you request deletion. To delete your account and all associated data, email us at support@icdcodefor.com. We will process the request within 30 days.

7. Children

This site is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date at the top. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
